The fire had a pretty good start as no one was home when the fire started,as the resident works the night shift, a neighbor who had just gone to bed smelled smoke and decided to investigate, he then discovered the fire and called it in. Several area fire departments assisted in the firefighting efforts. Eaton has no Hydrants, so the operation required several Tankers.to bring water to the scene. The Department was called out around Midnight, and remained on the scene until 6:30 A.M. |







On December 3rd, 2003 The Eaton Fire District Departments were summonded to a Tractor Trailer Roll Over at Route 12b & Woodman Pond Road, upon arrival they found that a Tractor trailer filled with 10,000 Gal. of Kerosene had flipped and skidded several yards and taken down seven trees & a Telephone pole, coming to rest in the trees and against a house. The Driver was suspended upside down inside the collapsed cab for almost an hour, while the Rescue crews , stabalized the truck and cut into the rear of the cab to extricate him (The doors were unavailable for rescue due to the collapse of the cab), about 7,000 gal. of the Kerosene was spilled creating an enormous Hazardous Materials Cleanup. Eaton was assisted at the scene by firefighters & Rescue personnel from Morrisville, Hamilton, & Madison. |

On January 4th 2004, we had another Tractor Trailer Roll over. This was on Route 26 Between Eaton & West Eaton, the Trailer was carrying milk. The Driver escaped with minor injuries, Morrisville F.D assisted. |
We Recently had a fire on River Road, The structure was a Greenhouse, It was wood framed with a Heavy Plastic Exteriorer, There was nothing to save when we arrived, as the pictures were taken within the first three min. We were assisted by the Morrisville & Hamilton Fire Departments. |
The following pictures are of a fire on Hagman Road. The family was away when the fire started, and the alarm was turned in by a passerby who saw the smoke. The house is rural and the only home on the road.Eaton was assisted by the Morrisville & Georgetown Fire Departments. |

On March 2nd, the departments were called to a head on collision between a pick up truck and a LP gas Tanker truck near Hatch Lake on Rte 26, it was cold and windy and the sight distance was zero at times from the blowing snow, fortunately there were no serious injuries |
April 10th,2005 Eaton & Erieville fire depts. were called to a Grass fire on Lebanon road in Georgetown, Georgetown fire dept. was at a fire in South Otselic. Winds whipped the flames which reached 6 to 7 feet high when the wind gust fanned them. |
The Department was called to a structure fire on Landon Road @ 6:17 P.M. at the former Erwin Morton residence on January 6th, 2006. Many area departments assisted in extinguishing the blaze. (Photo's by Morrisville Chief Rick Gorton) |
